I always just think of being a teenager. Sitting on my mother's bedroom floor with an old shoe box on my lap filled with photos of me as a baby, her as a young woman, my siblings smaller than they were then. When I shoot families, I imagine these little ones being in a similar situation. A good reminder to print your photos, even if they mostly live in an old shoe box under a bed. They will have a purpose.
Dustin and I have been rounding out our little manzanita team by offering video to our clients. I think photos hold so much. The way they freeze a moment so when you look at them in 10 years you get to fill in the gaps with what you remember. Something about partnering our photography with video has taken it to another level for me. When I post a shoot and can add a video at the end, it seems to bring the photos to life. The movement. Take a look at Jenn, Mike, Clementine, and Magnolia here and don't forget to watch the family video at the end of the post. It's pretty adorable.
